Springing Forth

I was searching for a box yesterday that was large enough to fit in 3 Easter Baskets that I needed to mail to my Grandkids in Omaha. I found a box that would be just right and proceeded to empty the contents so that I could put the Easter goodies inside and get it mailed off. The box was filled with some old framed photographs and a few envelopes of old pictures as well. What a treat it was for me to come across some Easter photos of my girls when they were young! It was just what my heart needed. I have been feeling a little Empty Nestish this past week. My oldest daughter Jennifer is in Malawi Africa with her husband and children as a Missionary with the Free Methodist Church. My middle daughter Melissa is in Omaha with her husband and 3 children where she is partners with her Mother in law of 2 Espresso Stands. My baby girl Kristine is living in Marysville and working at a Daycare/Preschool. None of my girls will be able to be home for Easter and I was feeling a little sad.

But coming across these pictures just served to remind me of how I prepared my girls to go forth into the world and do just what they’re doing. I can not begrudge them for doing exactly what I wanted them to do so many years ago. They are each productive and successful young Women and I am very proud of all 3 of them. I know that God was smiling down on me yesterday as he allowed me to stumble upon these pictures. Yesterday was the first Day of Spring. What an awesome Gift!

I can only imagine how hard that is to be missing your girls right now. I'm glad God led you to those pictures and cheered you up. Wasn't it a beautiful first day of spring?

How fun to come across those pictures. I wonder in 20 years what we, who never print pictures, will have to come across. Its not like we're going to find an old hard drive lying around the garage....well, maybe in your garage ;)
