DREAMING OF DREAMS

It was a house that I didn't recognize, but the people around me seemed familiar. I felt some anxiety because I knew that you were there. I was dreading the moment we'd make eye contact. I so wanted to leave the room before you entered but I could hear your voice bellowing over the din of everyone else.
Suddenly, you rushed towards me and wrapped your huge arms around me as we both toppled over. I could hear you began to sob and I myself was overcome with tears as well. "I'm so sorry!" you cried out. "I've missed you and the US we used to have." I became aware that everyone else had left the room. I did a quick glance around me and saw her standing over by the door as she closed it quietly so that we could talk.
I pushed you gently away and I was prepared to speak what was on my heart. You continued to cry while wiping away the flood of tears and I knew that my love and compassion for you was going to make this harder, but I had to proceed.
"We need to talk about this." I said. "It needs to be addressed. I can't just let this go. You said some horrid things."
I was shocked to see that I had in my hand the folded papers that I've been carrying around with me. My 'badge of horror' to remind me of how you really feel towards me. You didn't disagree with me but you didn't acknowledge anything either. You just kept saying that you missed me. I just kept getting sadder and sadder until the sobbing started again. Then I knew why I was crying....I was waking up and it was Only a Dream.
